I live with my parents and my dad is talking about gettting a dog. We have 2 cats are one almost 14 and the other is 7 years. Dad 's the cat disappeared in February this year and he' s talking getting a dog since. Dad speaks of getting a lab or border collie, but I don 't think that any one of those dog breeds would be most compatible with our 2 cats. Mom's the cat of 7 years is very territorial s back porch and attacks any animal that is on or near him and my cat of 14 years works whenever an animal comes into the house. Mom 's alllergic the dog hair, so we can' t have a long haired dog breed. What a little dog gets along well with cats, because Dad ' "s starting to get serious about getting a dog?

My family is wanting to get a big dog, we don 't care for small dogs barking too. But we are somewhat confused when it comes to the breed of dog you want, because we hear about dogs that have bad temperments and are not good with children. We have three children ages are 10, 7, 5. Just need a dog that would be a good watchdog, but gentle and loving with our kids. Can anyone help? We want to keep it inside, so we need a breed that would hold the train easily, too.
